We urge all members to get Withdrawal Cards whenever you leave your job. If you quit or are discharged from the company, are laid off for a period of more than one month, take a leave of absence or a Family Medical Leave. If you have an accident or have an illness that you expect will keep you off the job for more than the month the accident or illness occured, and if you enter a branch of the Armed Services of the United States.
Members receiving a withdrawal card for any of the above mentioned reasons, will have their dues deductions stopped until they notify the Union that they have returned to work with either their current employer or another Teamster employer. Because you have a withdrawal card, you are not obligated to pay back dues prior to your return to work date or an initiation fee upon returning to work at a different company.
Members may request a withdrawal card by calling the Union office bookkeeping department, extension 105, coming to the Union office in person or via mail by submitting a withdrawal card request form or simply putting your name, social security number, current mailing address, your last date of employment and the name of your employer on plain paper.
